Nouvelles règles sur le forum officiel

Matou:
Kevin a posté sur le blog officiel comme quoi le règlement sur le forum allait changer afin "d'interdire tous les avis négatifs" (bon, j'abrège un peu sa pensée, mais c'est un bon résumé)

Ainsi, voici le nouveau règlement :

--- Citer ---The new rules of the road for the Official Dune Novels Message Board.

There?s obviously been some confusion (by all parties) regarding what the new board rules shall be here at Dunenovels.com. We?re going to lay them out and hope that it clarifies any mix-ups we may be having. Originally there were some rules coming down about not mentioning the authors, but that is changing now simply because many members find that too stringent a policy.

So here we go...

1. This board is operated by the Herbert LLC and as such the rules laid out here are subject to change without notice.

2. The family of Frank Herbert desires an open discussion forum that does not turn into a negative fiasco on every thread and will therefor dictate what is and isn?t appropriate on a case-by-case basis (post-by-post).

3. Insults directed at the Herbert family, the Herbert LLC, the administrator of this message board, or toward other board users shall not be tolerated and the offending poster risks banning.

4. Banning shall entail a three (3) sequence event:
a. Warning #1 ? a written warning PM?d to you from the moderator
b. Warning #2 ? a second written warning including deactivation of your account. You can still email the board administrator at byron@dunenovels.com and discuss the deactivation. If he feels you deserve another go-around, you?ll be reactivated. If not, your account will remain inactive.
c. Warning #3 ? removal of your account from the board and banning of your IP address.

5. Steps in the banning process can be accelerated if the moderator deems the infraction to be grossly offensive and obviously meant to inflame the Herbert LLC, its members, or another board user.

6. This board is designed primarily as a discussion forum for Dune material published by Frank Herbert, Brian Herbert, and Kevin J. Anderson. Note the word ?discussion? in there. Board users are expected to act considerately when conversing with other board users. Insulting comments directed at the authors will not be tolerated.

7. Rampaging negative posts shall be deleted as they accomplish nothing except venomous commentary. Criticism is fine as long as it?s ?constructive?. If you do not understand the meaning of ?constructive criticism? then please google it.

8. Flame wars are not allowed under any circumstances. The instigating party risks banning.

9. Specific questions:

a. ?Can we talk about the authors?? Yes. As long as the ?talk? is constructive and not destructive or blatantly negative simply for the sake of negativity. This is often difficult to decipher in an online forum setting so tread cautiously.

b. ?Can discussions about the books take place?? Yes. As long as they are constructive and not destructive. Negative threads that lead nowhere but down a depraved road designed to instigate ill-will toward the Herbert LLC, it?s members, or other board users shall not be tolerated and the offending thread shall be deleted. The offending poster also risks banning.

c. ?Can we discuss the business behind the books.? No. This is a forum designed around fictional stories. The discussions should remain firmly in that realm and not wander off into Herbert LLC business, or other business items (if you have questions regarding this, you can PM the board admin).

d. ?Can we link to other sites on the web?? Yes. As long as they are appropriate and do not contain material offensive to the Herbert LLC, it?s members, or other board users. The link should be pertinent to the thread (although threads often whip about wildly).

e. ?Can we comment on deleted posts or edited posts?? No. You can PM the board admin but deletions/edits are under the purview of the board administrator and not allowed in open discussion.

10. These rules are fluid and will probably change over time. Be ready for that.

11. Negativity on these boards has become too great an issue to ignore. A few ruffians shall not rule the boards. It is designed for fans of all things Dune and there is room enough here for everyone.

12. A word of caution: if it is discovered that you are posting inflammatory comments about the Herbert LLC, its members, or other board members at other locations on the web, you will be held responsible for them. This doesn?t necessarily mean banning but any type of activity designed to subvert the original intent of this message board and its rules shall be taken very seriously and appropriate actions taken (if any).

The Board Admin.
